Fayose mocks Buhari for not knowing IGP Idris disobeyed his order
The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, lambast President Muhammadu Buhari for saying that he did not know the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, disobeyed his directive to relocate to benue State.
During his visit to Benue State, the President said he did not know how many days the IGP spent in Benue State after he ordered him to relocate to the state.
While addressing different groups at the Government House in Makurdi, on Monday, March 12, 2018, President Buhari said he was just learning that the IGP did not comply with his directive regarding his directive to Mr. Idris to relocate to Benue State.
The President said he will contact the IGP about the issue when he returns to Abuja. His words:
“What I did was to call him and give him the directive. I didn’t know he moved here (Benue State) and didn’t spend … and then moved to Nasarawa. It’s only now that I am knowing that.
“But I know I dispatched him here,” the President said.
While reacting to the news that the President was not aware that the IGP disobeyed his order to relocate to Benue State, Fayose said it is regrettable that the president may not know what is happening in Nigeria.
In his tweet via his Twetter page, Fayose states, “What manner of a President will give order to the IGP on January 9, only to be telling Nigerians on March 12 (2 months after) that he never knew that the IGP disobeyed his order? Does this President really know anything about happenings around him, not to talk about Nigeria?”
