APC candidates sweep all Kano State's LG elections



Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) chairman, Professor Garba Sheka, has declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidates as the winners of the state's Local Government election conducted on Sunday, February 11, 2018.

While breifing the members of the media during the press conference in Kano on Sunday, Professor Garba Sheka said APC won in all the 44 local government councils in the state. In addition, he said APC candidates won all the 484 councilorships' positions.

Prof. Sheka noted that 25 political parties participated in the election. While stating that the election was conducted in a peaceful manner, he credited the large voters turn out rate  and the deployment of  adequate security  personnel for the success of the election. His words,

“The security agencies include Police, Customs, Immigration, NDLEA, Vigilanty groups, NSCDC and other secret security personnel.

“I am proud that the election which was participated by 25 political parties was conducted peacefully without any violence, disruption by any person and no report of arrest."
