I didn't know the IGP disobeyed my directive to move to Benue - Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari said he did not know how many days the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, spent in Benue State after he ordered him to relocate to the state.
While addressing different groups at the Government House in Makurdi, on Monday, March 12, 2018, President Buhari said he was just learning that the IGP did not comply with his directive regarding the order to relocate to Benue State.
Armed with the new information from his visit to the state, the President said he will contact the IGP about the issue when he return to Abuja. His words:
“What I did was to call him and give him the directive. I didn’t know he moved here (Benue State) and didn’t spend … and then moved to Nasarawa. It’s only now that I am knowing that.
“But I know I dispatched him here,” the President said.
